In a way it felt like Brandon Sanderson using Egwene to voice him taking over RJ.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4833204375789249557.post-75074969800784404122011-07-25T07:19:58.796-04:002011-07-25T07:19:58.796-04:00Mattrickster: I agree that this is the sort of thi...Mattrickster: I agree that this is the sort of thing that these occurrences mean. It's almost a taunt, not just to make them afraid, but a threat that dirty deeds will be made public again and lower the standing of the Aes Sedai. Some of this is from the Dark One, some from the Pattern. I guess just as the Dark One aims to corrupt Rand, he/it aims to corrupt the Pattern.Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14767984732078916662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4833204375789249557.post-80837723417052594662011-07-25T03:44:13.416-04:002011-07-25T03:44:13.416-04:00"Caraighan’s portrait was formerly in the lib..."Caraighan’s portrait was formerly in the library and did not have blood on Caraighan’s face or bodies of the slain around her."
Linda, I've just re-read that chapter and something occured to me. The Dark One's touching the world and the Pattern is unravelling, but is it unravelling patches that have been put over it by suppressed knowledge. Egwene vaguely recognises the mural as Caraighan ending the rebellion in Mosadorin. But could it be that the Pattern is trying to reveal that Aes Sedai manipulators caused the rebellion in the first place and that as Amyrlin Caraighan is responsible for the deaths and that the White Tower has blood on it's hands. Aes Sedai hide their failures from everyone, themselves included as shown by the 13th Depository.
What are your thoughts?Mattricksternoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4833204375789249557.post-88822968489070612782011-03-09T15:15:20.097-05:002011-03-09T15:15:20.097-05:00shadar: not exactly. Apart from de-railing Egwene's dreaming, she was to manipulate her with induced headaches and some Compulsion.

Halima wasn't particularly skilled at dream manipulation and her Compulsion, if it was that, wasn't very strong. Or Egwene was too strong for it.

Thanks for the error message.Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14767984732078916662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4833204375789249557.post-20392899475748288722011-03-09T07:31:31.372-05:002011-03-09T07:31:31.372-05:00"insidious poisoning of the spirit.
