I agree that Jordan paints the characters' foibles very well.

Galad lost his arrogance and learned about greyness mainly from seeing that the Children were weak and fearful against the Trollocs in the previous scenes.

Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14767984732078916662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4833204375789249557.post-45477353446743280262014-10-10T22:32:42.825-04:002014-10-10T22:32:42.825-04:00I have enjoyed Jordan's "trivial notes&qu...I have enjoyed Jordan's "trivial notes" throughout the series. It's part of what makes his characters so 3 dimensional. Even after going through some earth-shattering events many characters are still petty, looking after silly comforts and small gains.

Galad's entire character arc is a great examination of people that try desperately to make the world out to be simpler than it is. Indeed, the entirety of the Whitecloak portion of the story is peppered with that theme. Galad seems quite rare (sadly) in his ability to learn that the world is indeed full of grey. One wishes there were more that willing to learn in our own world...t ballnoreply@blogger.com
